Abstract :
Single-phase reclosers are the normal choice for rural electric cooperatives which is designed to open for a continuous load of 140 A. However, when load currents exceeds the 70 A/phase range, three-phase reclosers are often selected to meet the increased load current requirements. The increased phase current settings cannot sense or interrupt for a minimum fault associated. Neutral current settings or ground trip settings provide a method for increased sensitivity for minimum faults
