Abstract :
The visualization of the 3D shape of an ancient Egyptian mummy from CT images, and the analysis of the internal bony structure using a surgical simulation system are discussed. The applications of 3D image analysis to mummies by various research groups are outlined. The advantages of 3D image analysis of mummies are summarized.<>
