Abstract :
There are several transformations used to decouple phases and expedite the analysis of poly- phase systems. Notable examples are symmetrical components and the transformations developed by Edith Clarke and R. H. Park. The general conditions for power invariant transformations are developed in this paper, using straightforward vector geometry. The classical transformations are developed as special cases and the prospect of tailoring transformations is considered.
