Abstract :
The authors give the first report of stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) in optical fibres causing waveform distortion in intensity modulated (IM) optical signals. The effect of SBS on an IM optical signal is experimentally verified. SBS was found to induce overmodulation of the optical signal
