An algorithm for the computation of element values of mid-series or mid-shunt low-pass

ladder networks is given. The algorithm is based on the network interpretation of Darlington\´s formulas described in a recent article by Amstutz. This algorithm is programmed with the consideration of Fujisawa\´s criterion, which makes it possible to determine the attenuation pole sequence for the positive element values. The algorithm gives accurate results for any number of sections in the ladder network, and it is insensitive to the transformation of variables used in filter synthesis to overcome the accuracy problem.
