            Abstract :
Cellular telecommunication networks provide a location independent access to telecommunication services of the various fixed public wide-area networks. In the first part of the paper, an overview of the service requirements and the network architecture of the new services-integrated digital GSM system is given. In the second part, the characteristics of the radio interface organization are presented and the performance aspects of the chosen approach is investigated
