  • Abstract
The intent of this article is to illustrate through research and results attained in three major findings of what is working for global manufacturers focused on synchronizing their demand for competitive advantage. The first finding explored is how global manufacturers are synchronizing demand for their products through integrating their customer-facing systems, order capture, order management, fulfillment and service systems. The second finding explores the approaches taken by companies to integrate these systems with their ERP and production scheduling systems to achieve transparency in the production process on a global scale. The third finding underscores the fact that the world´s best manufacturing companies are making their production processes transparent on a global scale, giving them the option of turning special projects that may have been marginally profitable in the past.
