Abstract :
We exploit majorization to establish a stochastic comparison result showing that the stationary interdeparture time from a leaky bucket is less variable than the stationary interarrival time in the sense of convex ordering. As a result, the variance of the stationary interdeparture time is smaller than that of the stationary interarrival time
