Abstract :
An approach is presented to sampling rate reduction in a digital time-delay beamforming system. Beam pattern shape is retained at low sampling frequencies while involving only a small amount of additional hardware, unlike conventional reduced sampling rate systems. The technique is applied to an underwater acoustic beam-forming system.
