Abstract :
A new model-based online rotor time constant estimator for an induction machine is developed. The estimation algorithm is based on induction machine models in two different reference frames. Novel mechanism is proposed to avoid the singularity problem. Encouraging simulation results are given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the simple yet accurate estimator.
