Abstract :
This paper presents a new approach for reliability evaluation of interconnected power systems including jointly owned generators. In this approach, all the jointly owned generators are first combined to form a generation model of these units. Then the rest of the generation model is combined with this jointly owned units (JOUs) generation model and load model to form a composite generation model. The transmission model is modified to account for flows due to JOUs. This modified transmission model along with the composite generation model forms the system state space. This method gives results which are very close to the results obtained by state-by-state analysis. The state-by-state analysis is, of course, impractical for real sized systems
