Abstract :
The popular V-BLAST algorithm used for detection in MIMO transmission systems is considered. Instead of using the usual complex-valued formulation the V-BLAST algorithm is applied to an equivalent real-valued transmission model. It is shown that this leads to some additional freedom in selecting the optimum detection ordering, and in turn to a non-negligible gain in error rate.
