Abstract
The paper proposes a simplified method for use in the analysis of single phase induction motors under running conditions using the IODEKICE LOCUS-a unity-diameter impedance circle derived from the Steinmetz Model. The impedance components of the forward and backward circular loci of the motor are represented mathematically by simple rational algebraic equations rather than by the usual products and quotients of complex quantities; the same impedance terms may be represented graphically by readily-visualized orthogonal components of those same circular loci, The result is a unified approach that may be used for a mathematical or graphical analysis of single phase machines
