Abstract :
The adjoint network approach to automated network design as presented by Director and Rohrer is extended for use in gradient calculations for noncommensurate networks. The networks can contain distributed elements such as uniform transmission lines and RC lines. An example investigates gradient computations for a noncommensurate microwave network having 13 variable parameters.
