Abstract
In the design of a hydroelectric generating plant, the major engineering disciplines assume responsibility for various items of equipment. It is difficult to examine the dynamic relationships that may exist between the penstock, the turbine and governor, and the generator and electrical system. Computer models are available to represent hydraulic transient phenomena in detail, and separate detailed representations of the electrical system are also available.
