Abstract
After the National Si-Soft Project and the Southern Taiwan Science Park (STSP) kicked off in 2002-2003, many semiconductor companies established branch offices or foundries in STSP. Prof. Chua-Chin Wang seized the moment to establish SSCS-Tainan as a solid-state circuit forum for them and for academic institutions in the area. In this article he recounts how SCS-Tainan became a reality and how its mission was defined to complement IC concerns in Southern Taiwan.
