Mm-wave CMOS Applications: A Report from a CSICS Panel

Questions from experts at a panel discussion during the Compound Semi-Conductor IC Symposium in Portland Oregon on 29 November, 2007 focused on the prognosis for future applications and the feasibility of 60 GHz WLAN/WPAN in CMOS. The last question, contrasting optimal designs with business reality, posed W band as a solution having less path loss and greater bandwidth than 60 Hz. Answer: There are no standards being written for W band.
