RFI Source-Locating on Power Lines-An Update

This paper describes a practical and efficient means for locating RI and TVI sources on power lines-particularly those operating below 70 kV, where most complaints originate. It uses certain new equipment and, along with certain new procedures and insights, permits a power company to resolve most interference complaints much more rapidly than is usually done. The main emphasis is on locating sparking sources on overhead lines but the paper also treats the locating of RFI sources occurring in underground lines.
