Abstract :
A source-coupled FET circuit is shown to produce a calculable negative admittance over a wide range of frequencies. The input characteristic is a close approximation to the cubic i = - ae + be^{3} so that with the addition of a simple tuned circuit an almost ideal realization of a Van der Pol oscillator is possible.
