Abstract
This outlines the origin and fundamental principles of International Space University´s approach to space education. The three pillars of this approach: international; intercultural; and interdisciplinary are introduced and their role in shaping ISU´s programs is discussed. The educational needs of the space community are addressed, as well as ISU´s strategy to meet these needs. This article concludes with a brief discussion of some achievements of this strategy and some plans for the future
