Abstract
Summary of a speech presented at the Municipal Electric Association in Toronto, Ontario, Canada February 28, 1989. Let us lead and not be led. The author would urge all of us to look positively at the challenges that confront us today and recognize that electricity´s share of the energy market will do nothing but increase in importance in the future. Our operations will continue to be scrutinized intensely by the public, but if we are prepared to make the hard decisions honestly and in a timely fashion, if we are prepared to exhibit strong leadership, we will have the public-our customers-with us. Canada´s economic and social future is dependent on our success or failure.
