Specifications for Environmental Qualification of Class IE Equipment

One of the major challenges to obtaining qualified Class IE equipment is the adequacy of the specification. This paper presents the minimum requirements that must be considered in the preparation of specifications for Class 1E equipment. By following the steps described in this paper, the buyer can be assured that specified Class IE equipment will perform its required function(s) and meet the requirements of the standards and regulations applied to nuclear power generating stations.
