Abstract :
The analysis of the current tionnterrup- ion performance is necessary in designing an irupterter- upter of a circuit breaker. A new simulation queechni- ue is introduced to investigate the current zero racteristics.ha- teristics. The driving force as well as the size and geometry of the interrupter chamber is taken into account in simulating the current interruption phenomena. . The process consists of a puffer action simulation and a current zero simulation. The result of this simulation ulation is in good agreement with the experimsults.ntal re- lts. This simulation process was effectively used in the development of a new series of gas circuit breakers with a higher unit voltage.
