Abstract
The ribbon receiver consists of a ribbon diaphragm in a magnetic field. In order that the ratio of pressure in the ear cavity to the applied voltage shall be independent of the frequency, the ratio of the amplitude of the ribbon to the applied voltage must be independent of the frequency. This is accomplished by employing an acoustic system consisting of two resonant circuits. The amplitude response of this receiver has a maximum variation of ±2½ decibels in the range 30 to 10,000 cycles.
