Abstract
Methods of radar resource management, parameter optimisation, data-dependent processing and real-time implementation of remote sensing capabilities have not been fully reported. The author examines these issues and describes how they have been addressed in one operational skywave radar system (the Australian JINDALEE radar). Finally, he considers the way ahead, including the exploitation of artificial intelligence in the form of knowledge-based systems
