Abstract :
A simulation model capable of simulating the operation of a given load/resource scenario is developed under the umbrella of PNUCC´s System Analysis Committee [1, 2]. This model, called System Analysis Model (SAM), employs the Monte-Carlo technique to incorporate quantifiable uncertainties. Explicit uncertainties in SAM include: hydro conditions, load forecast errors, construction duration, availability of thermal units, renewable resources (wind, solar, geothermal, and biomass), cogeneration, and conservation.
