Abstract :
The author states the responsibilities and objectives of a project manager before moving on to describe the essential elements of the project plan and the project control systems. The basic principles of project management vary little with the size or nature of a project. Whatever the size and scope, deciding what is required and then performing design, procurement and construction in some measure will be involved. Fully controlling a project entails establishing a plan, and then checking and rechecking all activities on a continuing basis until all are complete. Control also means identifying variances from the plan and then taking timely and effective action to deal with deviations
