Abstract :
In the almost continual improvement in control and communications equipment, the switchgear aspect of operating an automated distribution system is frequently relegated to the background. To fully utilize advances in control and communications schemes, switch- gear must include correspondingly expanded capabilities. This paper discusses a new loadbreak switch that provides the capabilities necessary to automate fault- isolation as well as circuit-reconfiguration switching.
