Abstract
An explanation is presented of the fundamental mechanism of the entire resynchronization control process and the sufficient conditions for the resynchronization of generators. Based on the knowledge of this mechanism, a discrete control scheme is deduced. Simulation studies and scaled model experiments show that reliable and fast automatic resynchronization is realized by this control scheme after loss of synchronism occurs. The attractive advantages of this control scheme are its effectiveness, simplicity, and adaptability to various operating conditions
