Abstract :
A chopper approximately the size of a radio receiving tube, for small voltages and currents, is described. A tiny contacting member with microscopic working gap provides nearly noiseless operation at 120 cycles. Vacuum contacts give proper operation at millivoltages much below values for which contacts in air are suitable.
