Abstract
The authors explore the potential of developing hypermedia-based courseware for power engineering undergraduate education. This is accomplished by first outlining the deficiencies of the conventional classroom lecture environment that can be compensated for by properly designed courseware. An authoring system for developing hypermedia-based applications is also described. Finally, a program developed for an introductory power engineering course is used to demonstrate the potential uses of hypermedia-based courseware
