Abstract :
Previously published optical frequency stabilization schemes needed development of a fair amount of extra hardware. The authors use a personal computer and a standard heterodyne receiver to perform optical frequency stabilization with a 40-channel capability and only +or-80 MHz channel separation drift. This eliminates a large part of the overhead costs of frequency stabilization in coherent optical multichannel systems.<>
