Abstract
The technology in distribution switchgear has changed significantly in recent years and many new techniques are now available of advantage to both manufacturers and users. The object of this paper is to establish the requirements for distribution switchgear and show how the technology best suited to meeting these objectives can be selected. The paper is illustrated by describing how a new range of distribution sulphur hexafluoride switchgear has been produced for the world market place.
