Abstract :
The axisymmetric electromagnetic eigenmodes of a toroidal resonator of a circular cross-section filled with a homogeneous cold magnetized plasma are analyzed. The static magnetic field of the model considered has only a toroidal component, falling off inversely as the major radius. Since the basic equations are not separable in toroidal coordinates, they are solved by a perturbation method. Eigenfrequencies and eigenfunctions are calculated up to the second order in the inverse aspect ratio
