Abstract
A theoretical analysis of the efficiency and output of a triode operating as a class B radio-frequency amplifier is made. It is shown that for a given tube, plate voltage, and plate loss there is a definite value of load impedance which will give maximum output. Design formulas are developed for determining this load impedance, the proper grid excitation, and the resultant efficiency and output.
