Abstract
In this paper, a two leg three phase inverter with four switches are used instead of six switches for three phase inverter. Artificial neural network (ANN) based controller is used for closed loop V/f control of induction motor (IM) drive. Here ANN is a feedforward network which is trained by levenberg marquardt (LM) algorithm. The conventional drive has good steady state response and poor transient response, but developed model has good transient response. This model reduces the switching losses and size of drive, which makes it cost effective. The model simulated in MATLAB/SIMULINK and its simulation results are discussed.
