Abstract :
In this paper, a dual-frequency stacked patch with asymmetric U-slot on lower patch and a rectangular slot on upper patch is presented. For wireless system and RF applications, the microstrip patch is one of the most chosen antenna structures because of its being cheaper and compact design. Dual-Band antennas are of a main interest as they can support several communication systems. The designed antenna is experimentally verified for the required performance with the help of IE3D software. Dual frequency operation is obtained by loading slots in rectangular patches and good impedance bandwidth is obtained by using Rogers Duroid 5880 with slight difference in dielectric permittivity for upper and lower patch. The impedance bandwidth (VSWR ≤ 2) is obtained as 4.29% for 3.4 GHz and 6.32% for 5.6GHz. Return losses obtained are -31 dB and -42dB at 3.4GHz and 5.6 GHz respectively.
