Abstract
The Canadian Electrical Association (CEA) is playing a key role in the collection and analysis of outage data for generating equipment in Canada. All Canadian utilities are now collecting data using a single comprehensive reporting procedure. This developnent includes models which provide a useful and accurate representation of the operating history of selected unit types and classes. This paper illustrates the data format for gas turbine or peaking units and illustrates how the CEA data base can be used to generate suitable models for capacity adequacy studies.
