Abstract
A new type of temperature compensated birefringent optical fiber has been proposed by using titanium as codopant. This fiber is found to have optimal operating wavelength near 1.55 μm communication window. The temperature sensitivity of 8.77×10/sup -5///spl deg/C has been achieved.
