  • Abstract
    This paper presents a new control strategy of a stand-alone Self-Excited Induction Generator (SEIG) driven by a variable speed wind turbine along with Solar PV array using Direct Torque Control (DTC). The proposed system consists of a three phase squirrel-cage induction machine connected to a wind turbine through a step-up gear box. The Solar PV Combined with Capacitor serves as the initial Excitation for the SEIG. The terminal voltage of SEIG varies with wind speed and loading conditions. In order to maintain the terminal voltage constant, Direct Torque Control Strategy is used along with Voltage Source Converter. The proposed system is modeled and simulated in MATLAB/SIMULINK environment.
