Abstract :
We present a method of wideband array calibration which minimizes signal cancellation in the generalized sidelobe canceller. Array calibration is achieved by deriving the optimal eigenvector-based blocking matrix that minimizes leakage of the desired signal into the noise cancelling filter, and also the corresponding passing matrix which maximally enhances the desired signal. Simulations and experimental results using data collected from wideband arrays constructed at the University of Texas at Dallas demonstrate that our calibration technique performs wed with actual data as well as with simulated data
