Abstract
This paper presents a new structure of three phase seven level Cascaded Multilevel Inverter (CMLI) for Photo Voltaic (PV) applications. The proposed structure consists of H-bridge inverter unit and sub-multilevel unit. Each sub-multilevel unit is connected with PV panels. The proposed system incorporates less number of power semiconductor devices compared to conventional CMLI system. The voltage stress across the switches, switching losses, driver circuit requirements and Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) are also get minimized. A mathematical model of the PV system is developed and integrated with the proposed inverter system. The entire performance of the system is evaluated through SIMULINK tool.
