Abstract :
The paper provides ranges of resistance values for 2/0 and 4/0 temporary grounding jumpers (TG jumpers) which when subjected to rated fault tests sustained: (a) no damage, (b) some fusing, and (c) failed by separation. This information is unique and can be used for establishing minimum resistance values for TG jumper testing and selecting pass/fail criterion. The results were obtained from special tests conducted at Bonneville Power Administration and Ontario Hydro Power Technologies high current laboratories.
