            Abstract : 
A 20 MVA generator incorporating superconducting field windings and an air gap armature winding support system has been designed, manufactured, and tested. Insights into the feasibility of employing superconducting generator technology in a commercial power system environment were obtained. Details and results of the test program, which included no-load, transient, and real power load tests, are discussed.
