Abstract :
In 1981, the Working Group on Calculation of Bare Overhead Conductor Temperatures formed a Task Group on the Resistance of Bare Overhead Stranded Conductors for the purpose of evaluating present methods of calculating resistance. The Task Group determined that standard methods of calculating resistance were quite adequate except for two possible problems -- the correction for magnetic core losses in ACSR conductor and the possibility of significant radial temperature gradients.
