Abstract :
One of the tasks assigned to the Continuing Education (CE) Subcommittee of the IEEE Power Engineer Education Committee is to assess the continuing education needs of practicing electric power engineers. In an effort to evaluate the present situation, the CE Subcommittee has created a questionnaire which was mailed to some 5000 members of the Power Engineering Society residing in North America. This report summarizes the numerical data extracted from over 1400 responses received. The complete wording of the 23 questions is provided along with the total number of responses received. The number of responses and their relative weight is given for each possible answer. For several of the questions a more in-depth analysis is provided
