Abstract :
A method of guaranteeing asymptotic stability in a recursive digital filter (using fixed point arithmetic) is presented. Using this method a particular implementation of the second-order "coupled form" recursive digital filter is demonstrated to be completely free from limit cycle oscillations under zero input conditions.
