Abstract :
Generation of polarisation-entangled photon pairs at 1550 nm is demonstrated using two periodically poled lithium niobate (PPLN) waveguides. In two-photon interference experiments, the coincidence detection rate was 0.53 kHz with a visibility of ∼94% (after subtraction of accidental coincidences). The ratio of single-photon to coincidence detection rate is ∼50.
