Abstract
The authors developed an insulation diagnostic system that makes automatic measurements of the dielectric dissipation factor and DC component in a hot-line XLPE (cross-linked polyethylene) insulated power cable and makes an overall judgement of cable insulation deterioration. This system was tested on XLPE cables in hot-line conditions, the criteria for judgement of insulation deterioration were established based on the results of measurements
