Abstract
Erasure nodes are special devices that have been conceived to improve the throughput of DQDB networks. They achieve this by releasing slots containing segments which have passed through all their destinations. The authors discuss the overload performance of a network with erasure nodes and the standard BWB mechanism enabled, when alternative erasure node protocols are considered
